Use Outlook Connector for Domino to Access Lotus Notes Messages with Outlook

If you are working in a collaborative environment, you may need to access emails, notes, contacts, drafts, calendar items from Lotus Notes to MS Outlook. Microsoft provides a free tool named Outlook Connector, which you can use to access Lotus Notes messages with Outlook. Following steps help you to use Outlook Connector for Lotus Notes to access messages stored in the .nsf file with MS Outlook:

  1. Download the Microsoft Outlook Connector from Microsoft download center.

  2. When you have finished the download process, a file named olconn2.exe will be saved at the destined location.

  3. Double-click this file to start the installation process.

  4. Follow the on screen instructions to install the software.

  5. Restart your computer system to make the Outlook Connector for Domino effective.

  6. Now, launch MS Outlook.

As you launch the Outlook, you will be able to see your emails and other related items in your Outlook mailbox. This way you can access Lotus Notes messages in Outlook. However, there are some limitations with Outlook Connector i.e. it only works for Outlook 2002 or Outlook 2003. In addition, both Lotus Notes and Outlook should be installed on your computer.

In case, you do not have Lotus Notes installed on your computer but have NSF file or you are not using Outlook 2002 or 2003 then you need NSF to PST converter. A good quality NSF to PST software quickly converts individual NSF file to PST file. The converted PST file can be opened with any version of MS Outlook.

NSF to PST converter maintains emails structure, formatting, and properties while scanning the NSF file to retrieve messages stored in it. Therefore, you can use the recovered items as is; there will be no need to make changes in the email items. After the NSF file in converted into PST, just select the File > Open > Outlook Data File option and you will get access to NSF emails in MS Outlook.
